Armed Forces Day 2015

 Honor Guard

Again in 2015, this group will meet in Lindley to conduct the Armed Forces Day Ceremony that honors all 5 Branches of the United States Military Personnel. For the past 6 years, this group has generously donated their time and efforts to help Lindley residents honor the men and women who have served our country or are presently serving in the military service .
 
        This years ceremony will be
 
                    May 17th  2 P.M..
                   Lindley Town  Hall.
 
The Woodhull Community Band will again be present to play Patriotic Music prior to the Ceremony .
 
Speaker for the event will be our local DAR member  
                       Brenda Criss.
The topic of her program will be :
            A local Revolutionary War Soldier
 
In addition - This year's ceremony will acknowledge the 4 men  known to have had  Lindley ties  and who died in WWII.:
 Pfc. Robert Blackman, 
 Pvt. Ivan Jones,
 Pvt.Robert J. Smith and
 1st Lt. Donald Walch.
 
The ceremony is free and open to the public.
Refreshments following the ceremony are furnished by local merchants and residents.
 
And Don't Forget
It is the L/P Fire Department's annual Chicken B-Bar BQ at the Fire Hall . 
Noon until gone  
            
Enjoy lunch with the Firemen  -Then  honor our  local Service Men and Women at 2 P.M.  at the  Lindley Town Hall
 
See you there and in case of rain -we will make do inside..   Let's all support the local Firemen and our Military members.
