A Bride and Groom in Hard Luck in 1901

Today's passenger trains travel  from the Wellsboro, Pa vicinity to  the Ives Run Recreational Area and back over some of the 1901  Central RR right of way..

A newspaper clipping from Corning Journal -February 20,1901 when there were still passenger trains on the New York Central Railroad from Corning, NY to Lock Haven, Penna.  (passing through Presho and Town of Lindley)   (Found on the Fulton Newspaper Archives Web site)

                                            From Wednesday's Daily Journal

A bride and groom of this city have had their troubles in going on a wedding trip. They were to leave on the 6:30 train going South on the Central last night and after waiting at the station for awhile they concluded not to go as the train was 3 hours late.
They were on hand at 6 o'clock this morning for the Central train which did not leave Corning until 9:30 on account of a wreck at Presho. They were also delayed at Presho until
12 o'clock today.  We hope their trip will be all the more pleasant as a poor beginning makes a good ending for the Young groom and his bride.
