Lindley's 225 th Birthday Party Update

Planning for Lindley’s 225th Birthday Party  continues .The event from noon to 5 P.M  on September 19 ,2015 will be held at the Lindley Town Hall and the Lindley Community Church which are located  at the Intersection of Morgan Creek Road and County Rt. 115  (former US. Rt. 15).  Exits for Lindley are now located at the Presho Exit ( #6 ) and the Lawrenceville Exit on Interstate 99. Handicapped parking is expected to be at the Town Hall with General  Parking in the Church Parking Lot.

 

Children’s activities and the food tent will be on the Church grounds. Outside the Town Hall there will be demonstrations by Flint Makers, a Blacksmith ,displays of old tools and vintage automobiles.  At the Town Hall and tent, there will be displays on tobacco growing, hopefully Indian Artifacts, businesses, maps, photos and  other memorabilia relating to Lindley ‘s past.  Descendants of our Founding Fathers will be there to exchange family history and stories with each other and the public.

More is still being added to the event. The  Planning Committee will meet Friday  Sept.11 -7 P.M-  at Lindley Town Hall

 

A program at 3 P.M. with several surprises will be followed by ice cream and cake!  Cake and ice cream are free from donations and the budget.  Proceeds from food sales at the Community Church will be donated  to the LP  Fire Department  who will be helping in several ways that day.  

 

The public is invited with free.admission .

 

Watch for the banner on donated by Hall’s of Tioga, Pa. on the Lindley Town Hall lawn.

 

More is  being added to the event as I write..  The Planning Committee and Chairperson Brenda Criss have planned a day to go down in Lindley’s history. Plan to join them at  the event.
