A query to Megan -Town Clerk

-------- Original Message -------- Subject: Lindley town flag Date: Wed, 24 Feb 2010 07:23:32 -0800 (PST) From: John Johnson To: lindleytc@stny.rr.com Good Day! My name is John Johnson and I reside in Asheville,NC. I've contacted clerk's office requesting info on your municipal flag. Vexillology is my hobby. I'm currently examining New York Town flags. Curious if Lindley has any official or unofficial flag? If so, could I obtain a digital image of the flag? A photo, or any additional knowledge of your township flag would be beneficial to my study.Cheers,John S. Johnson I have no record of an official flag for Lindley -Does anyone else know?? Uri Mulford -Steuben County Hall of Fame

No official notice from County Historian's Office yet, but an article in today's Leader says that on Monday 2/22/2010 ,the County Legislature approved Uri Mulford to be inducted into The Steuben County Hall of Fame. According to the Steuben County Historian's Website, individuals who are inducted were born in Steuben County or lived here and made significant contributions to the county. The Induction ceremony is scheduled for May 1st. Once I know more, I will add the information about Uri and the Induction ceremony to the blog . It is good timing for Lindley's 220 Years Anniversary as Uri is a descendant of our Founder Col.Lindsley and of the first Mulford family to settle here.

The Adrian and Verna Austin Family donated some articles to the Historian files. This list was one of the items. Notice every area of Lindley was well represented !!!! In a conversation with Verna -Sept. 2002 , she said Adrian and Dick Stowell discussed the formation of a Fire Department in the Austin store and promoted it until it became a reality. Thank you Joyce, Virginia and Larry for sharing. Click on list to enlarge
